Capris sewing pattern

Elastic waist, legs that stop mid-calf. Drafted to your doll’s size and printed on woven cotton (it doesn’t stretch), so you cut it out and sew it with no paper pattern.

Thread and closures aren’t included. Elastic is not included: you buy it, measure your doll’s waist and cut it to fit. How to read the panel

How to sew it

Printed along the bottom of your panel:

Hem the legs. Sew each leg’s inseam, right sides together, matching the notches.
Leave one leg wrong side out. Turn the other right side out and slip it inside, so right sides face. Match the inseams and crotch edges, then sew the crotch seam from front waist to back waist.
Turn the waist edge under on the top dotted line, fold the casing in on the second dotted line and stitch near the inner folded edge, leaving a gap for the elastic.
Thread elastic in flat, with no twist. Check the waist stretches over the doll’s hips and bottom and is snug at the waist, then take it off the doll. Join the ends securely, let the join slide inside and close the gap without catching the elastic.

Tips for this pattern

Capris are drafted to stop at mid-calf; hem on the dotted line.
Make sure the leg openings are wide enough to slip over the doll’s feet.
